A Tentative Decision

I left our social worker a message today to say we'd like to continue the adoption process now. Thank you so much for your prayers and support! We're still seeking advice and praying about it, but we're leaning toward adopting now. So, we decided we should work on getting our paperwork in order and see where things go from here!

Hi,

I am writing today because I've been reading your blog for a bit now. I will begin receiving progesterone shots soon. My husband is currently googling everything he can to learn about doing his part.

I was wondering if Mr. X has any advice and/or tips to pass along to my husband. He's interested in learning if he had a hard time giving you the shot; was it difficult for him to do. He doesn't mean emotionally - he means the task itself.

Hi Faith!

I asked Mr. X, and here's his advice for your husband:

1. look at a diagram of the major nerves to get an idea of where they are located before giving the shot

2. make sure the lighting is good when he is identifying an injection site

3. it's easiest if you are lying face-down or tilted to one side (halfway between lying face-down and on your side--it's kind of hard to describe, but he'll kneel on the bed next to me and I lean against him so that he's kind of propping me up in that position while giving the shot)

4. massage the area both before and after the shot

5. exercising (for you, not for him) makes a huge difference in how painful the shots are--but, hey, you're a runner, so that'll be no problem for you :)

I hope the shots go well!

Hello! I just wanted to say hi and congratulate you on your pregnancy! I am forty two, also have endometriosis (I was diagnosed with it Feb. 12 2007 after surgery to remove two ovarian cysts), and hope and pray to be a Mom someday. Husband and I have been trying for the eighteen months we've been married without any success.

I find it very encouraging and hopeful that you have endometriosis and you are now pregnant! You, your unborn baby, and husband will be remembered in my daily rosary. I am making it my mission to pray for all mothers and mothers to be. Now I can add you to my list!

May God Bless you and your family.

Love,
Maria Therese :)
