Checking In

Meridith was nice enough to check on me (thanks!), so I thought I'd post a quick update!

Things are going well right now, but busy with opera rehearsals, work, and life in general! I'm trying to fight the crud that is going around, so I'm trying to stockpile as much sleep as I can get.

I got the first day of results from the cortisol testing, and they are . . . normal. Huh. 20.9, which is actually at the high end of normal, and my understanding is that adrenal fatigue is indicated by low cortisol in the morning. I'm going to ask about saliva testing, though.

Mr. X is on another business trip, so I'm going to go give myself an hCG injection and go to bed.

Two weeks to go, and then things will calm down in a big way!

Glad the cortisol test came back normal... but if it was from a blood draw I would definitely ask about the saliva test... I hope my results are back for my apt today...

Glad you are doing better... continuing to pray for you (((hugs)))

When I had all my blood tests, they were all on the ends of normal too. It made me wonder if it wasn't enough to be throwing things off.

i'm hoping that month 3 on the HCG injections will show some sort of improvement -- my hormone levels were still kinda low last month.

last needle is tonight -- yay!

Mine were normal for the b/w (P+7), but when I did the saliva testing on CD 5, it was high in the morning and noon, normal afternoon and evening. This apparently is typical of a stress pattern (but not totally burned out, as my Dr. put it). So I'd definately get the saliva testing done, too.

I just sent my results in to Dr. H and will see what he says about it (if treatment is needed, etc.)

Hey There!

I just wanted to thank you for commenting on my post yesterday! I really appreciated the support!

I realize now that I didn't do a good job of clarifying what specific circumstances I was referring to in my post which lead to some misunderstanding and hurt which I feel bad about.

But at the same time, it is hard to walk on eggshells all the time and make sure that every post has a "disclaimer," so to speak, that gives all the exceptions to the point you're making. Anyway, I just wanted to say thanks! I always welcome thoughts and opinions from others especially when they are expressed with as much compassion and grace as you did!

I hope you are able to get the saliva thing done soon! I think it would be really nice to know for sure that things were normal the whole time, instead of just after one test!

Hugs!

kcmarie122,

No problem--I've got your back! :) I was afraid I might have come off as criticizing you, which I didn't mean to do. I just thought you two were operating from different definitions of abortion. And it's so hard to make these issues clear, especially when there are such heartbreaking circumstances involved! I admire you for speaking out and for working at the pregnancy center. I used to volunteer at a home for pregnant women, and I know how hard it would be for me to do that right now!
