Peaceful Night

Last night was night 5 of the sleep training with Sarah. In our spiritual formation class last night (Mr. X stayed home to put her to bed, and our babysitter came and helped with Nicholas), I was reminded that we need to ask in order to receive, and so I prayed specifically for a peaceful night's sleep for all of us. This might sound odd, but I also heard from someone I know slightly that she had been told that one of the ways Satan works against parents is through lack of sleep, so I said a spiritual warfare prayer, too. And she slept through the night! She made noises a couple of times, though once I could tell they weren't waking noises, and the second time I went in and rubbed her back, but she was actually asleep. She woke up and called me at 7:00, and when I walked in, she smiled, waved, and said "Hi Mommy!" Thank you, thank you, thank you Jesus!

Ah, that must be a nice feeling to be greeted in the morning hearing "mommy". Precious!

I was reading your blog in the car...and I'm not sure what post you said that she mostly slept on you....

Ahhhh, I love H sleeping on me. I think I'm actually addicted....She has slept on me since we brought her home....The only question I have is when is it time to transition? I really do not want too because I love it so much....But just wondering if you had any issues transitioning....

Oh and I agree about sleep and the devil. My husband gets home right around the time I start to hit the brick wall...I'm great ALL DAY and then the evening hits and I'm a monster because I'm so tired. :)

It's awful! I told DH I can't wait for baby number 2 and he said I can, I need a break from being yelled at...hahaha Opppss...Probably not so funny!

Hey Sew, I know, I loved it too! I didn't do much of anything about transitioning for a long time, to be honest. I would try putting her in the Moby wrap if I needed to do things while she slept, and then she really liked her swing, so I'd try putting her down there, too. Once she started moving around more in her sleep (probably after 6 months), I would move her away from me when she fell asleep. We didn't do anything really systematic until she was about 11 months old and we started having my husband put her to bed so that she wouldn't absolutely have to be nursed to sleep at bedtime!
