New treatment

Just a quick post to say I started taking hydrocortisone for adrenal fatigue today. Dr. H diagnosed me with moderate adrenal fatigue just as I found out I was pregnant with Sarah, so I never started treatment. I've been hounding several of my family members to get tested for it, so, while I was at it, I asked about being treated myself. I've taken two doses so far. For those of you who are on this treatment, did it work for you right away? I feel so much better already. Is that weird?

So glad to hear that he can treat this. I'm so impressed by him and I haven't even met him yet. I will pray that this works for you.

Is that different from a thyroid test? I saw my regular doctor this week for something else and asked for a thyroid test, but wasn't specific. Just "thyroid." I'll know the results in a few weeks.

I recently did the adrenal function test and I tested low, particularly around lunchtime. My Napro doc checked my thyroid function around the same time and I can't wait to get those results!

I hope the hydrocort helps!

YES, I have an immediate reaction on Hydrocort, as well.

When I'm dosed properly I feel it right away when I'm on high enough doses...I seriously am and could pop that pill all day long without hesitation. It's a pill I never forget to take, never leave the house without and I know once I get stable, it's going to be the gas that gets me going...It's my fuel...I'm in love with it if you can not tell...

My drs theory is that low cortisol is a precursor to endo...Meaning (if I'm not mistaken and understood him right) the adrenals put off progesterone and when the cortisol is low so is progesterone allowing estrogen to be the dominant hormone causing endo. Boo-Yah! Makes so so much sense to me...

Also makes so much sense sinc most endo girls have ZERO energy! ;) hahahaha
